‘I don’t trust her’: Stepdad refuses to let 22-year-old stepdaughter move in after she falsely accused his 20-year-old son of stealing her belongings, mom takes daughter's side
When your single parent decides to tie the knot with someone new, and that someone also has children, it is an awkward situation, to say the least. Setting aside the fact that you now have another parental figure you barely even know, you also are 'given' new siblings, even though they are basically just strangers. Strangers who live under the same roof as you, have access to all your stuff, and are entitled to everything you are entitled to in regards to the family.
It makes sense if you don't feel like you can trust these practical strangers, even though they are technically your new family, However, it is much better for the family if nobody starts throwing accusations around that can damage the already fragile state of the family. That applies to the parents, whether they are the step or biological parents, the siblings, and everyone else who may be involved in the family.
